From Fur Baby to Big Sister: Megan’s Journey to Motherhood
Share
When Megan first reached out to us, we didn’t yet know the story her bears would tell. All we knew was that we were about to create something special. What we didn’t expect… was to cry along with her.
Megan is a nurse with a heart full of compassion. For years, she and her husband dreamed of becoming parents. Every tiny onesie in a store window, every baby blanket, it tugged at her heart. Even without a baby yet, she would buy little outfits, holding on to hope with every purchase.
But years went by. No pregnancy. Just waiting… and hurting.
Eventually, Megan came to a painful realization: maybe becoming a mother wasn’t going to be part of her story. She began letting go... emotionally and physically. She donated most of the baby clothes she had once lovingly collected, believing she would never have a daughter to wear them. Still, she couldn’t part with a few of her favorites. Somehow, something in her heart told her to keep just a couple.
And then, life surprised her.
After nearly a decade of waiting, heartbreak, and healing… Megan found out she was pregnant!!
A miracle.
Today, her daughter Elizabeth is a years old. She is loved beyond measure. And Bella—Megan’s sweet pitbull mix who had become her “first baby” during the hardest years—is now the proud and gentle big sister.

We had the honor of creating two custom memory bears for Megan. The bears were made using outfits Elizabeth wore throughout her early months, including some of those few pieces Megan had kept all along.
One of the most meaningful pieces we used was a custom onesie that said:
“Protected by Bella.”
It was a personalized gift made for Elizabeth—one she wore often, and one that carried so much love and meaning.
One of the bears was made to weigh exactly 5 lbs 11 oz, Elizabeth’s birth weight. When Megan held it in her arms, she gasped. Then the tears came.
“It’s like holding her again for the first time,” she whispered.
She cried out of joy. Out of love. Out of the incredible journey it took to get here.
From heartbreak to hope. From fur baby to big sister.
From giving up… to holding her miracle.

Megan’s story reminds us that sometimes, love takes time but when it finally arrives, it’s even more beautiful than we imagined.
Thank you, Megan, for letting us be a small part of your journey.
With love,
Amy & Yesenia
